The Grisly Cartoon Film Ending That Haunts Audiences
Out of all the mature animated films I have ever watched, no other has stuck with me quite like the terror-laced conclusion of the viscerally violent and highly provocative film from 2022 The Unicorn Wars.
In 2015’s, this Spain-based writer-director developed a grim, somber , often savage universe that included several minor , forlorn twinges of hope.
Although The Unicorn Wars seems like it came from a desire to expand the medium even more, the director stated that it was actually an effort to express a widespread, multicultural theme regarding “the mutual source of all wars.”
That message is conveyed by means of a group of colorful pastel bears , clearly based on a popular line of lovable figures.
Growing up in a culture centered on warmongering as well as the war machine, numerous these animals are consumed by slaughtering the mythical beasts, thanks to a religious scripture which states them they previously were masters of the forest, until the unicorns expelled them.

The Unicorn Wars commences similar to one of the more whimsical films from an iconic filmmaker, that discover a naughty glee in allowing cartoon characters swear, shoot each other, or engage sexually.
Subsequently it becomes closer to a darker film from that director, with increasingly explicit brutality , a tangible link to the real suffering of conflict.
