Renowned Star Pat Finn, Known For Roles in Seinfeld and The Middle, Dies at 60 Years Old.
Stateside actor Pat Finn, who appeared in iconic programs like Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has died at the age of 60.
The skilled improv artist passed away at his residence in LA recently following treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, per reports.
"Pat Finn saw everyone as a friend - solely future friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones shared in a statement.
They noted that he had "lived his life fully - with joy and exuberance".
A Prolific Television Career
Finn's first television role was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the titular character's brother.
He also had a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.
He starred as Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a party host who would assign unpleasant chores to his guests.
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, he had guest spots on several hit series, including:
- King of Queens
- "Friends"
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
His most famous role for his portrayal of the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight seasons of the show from 2011 to 2018.
His film credits include "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Beyond the Screen
Beyond his acting parts, Finn was an improv performer and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was involved with a comedy group of six named Beer Shark Mice.
"Pat coached, befriended and mentored many learners over the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find a person who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.
Paying homage, fellow actor actor Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote publicly.
Finn is survived by his partner Donna, his children, and his family.
