Congressional Democrats Release Newest Collection of Jeffrey Epstein Photographs as Department of Justice Time Limit Nears

The House Oversight Committee has released a collection of roughly 70 photos secured from the holdings of deceased adjudicated sexual predator Jeffrey Epstein.

This represents the third such publication from a tranche of more than 95,000 photos the body has acquired from Epstein's property. It contains pictures of passages from the novel Lolita inscribed across a woman's body, and redacted photos of female international passports.

This action occurs hours before the December 19th due date for the Justice Department to make public each files connected to its inquiry into Epstein.

"These new photos raise additional questions about exactly what the Justice Department has in its holdings," stated the senior Democrat of the committee, Robert Garcia.

What is in the Photos Disclosed

Some of the images released on this week depict Epstein in discussion with academic and activist Noam Chomsky on a personal aircraft; Bill Gates standing beside a female whose identity is obscured; Steve Bannon seated at a table facing Epstein, and previous Alphabet president Sergey Brin at a dinner event.

These are the most recent high-net-worth, prominent men to be seen in Epstein's estate images released by the committee - formerly published images also depict US President Donald Trump and former president Bill Clinton, as well as movie director Woody Allen, former US Treasury Secretary Larry Summers, lawyer Alan Dershowitz, Andrew Mountbatton-Windsor, and other figures.

Being pictured in the photos is not proof of any misconduct, and several of the photographed figures have stated they were in no way implicated in Epstein's illegal activity.

In a announcement released with the photograph disclosure, Lawmakers on the US House Oversight Committee said the Epstein estate did not offer explanatory details or timings for the pictures.

"Photographs were chosen to provide the public with openness into a illustrative selection of the photos obtained from the holdings, and to offer understanding into Epstein's network and his profoundly troubling activities," the statement reads.

The disclosure also features multiple photos of excerpts from the Vladimir Nabokov novel Lolita penned in dark ink across different parts of a woman's body, such as her chest, foot, hip, and spine. Lolita tells the account of a minor who was exploited by a adult literature professor.

One quote from the novel scrawled across a woman's upper body states, "Lolita's name: the point of the tongue taking a trip of three steps down the roof of the mouth to alight, at three, on the teeth".

There are also a number of images of women's passports and official papers from states globally, including Lithuania, Russia, the Czech Republic, and Ukraine.

Most of the data on the IDs, including names and birth dates, is redacted but the committee stated in a announcement that the passports pertain to "individuals whom Jeffrey Epstein and his associates were engaging".

An additional photo depicts Epstein sitting at a desk closely flanked by three female figures whose identities have been censored - one has her hand on Epstein's upper body under his clothing, and another individual is crouching to look at a adjacent device. Epstein seems to be aiding the third put on a wristband.

A further photograph disclosed is a capture of digital messages from an unidentified sender who says they have been provided "some girls" and are asking for "$1000 per girl".

Image Disclosure Occurs Ahead of DOJ Deadline

The body has many thousands of photos in its holdings from the Epstein property, which are "at once explicit and ordinary," its announcement on Thursday clarified.

The House Oversight Committee first issued a subpoena to the holdings of Epstein, who died in a New York prison in 2019 while pending legal proceedings on charges of sex trafficking crimes, in August.

The images and documents the Epstein estate provided to the body are separate from what is often called "the Epstein documents". Those files are documents under the DOJ's possession related to its independent investigation into Epstein.

Under the recently passed law, which President Trump signed into law recently, the DOJ has a deadline of 19 December to publish its files. The scope of the contents found in the DOJ's files is not publicly known, and it's expected that much of the content will be significantly censored, comparable to Congressional materials
